Pianist under the age of 30 from any country can take part in the competition.
The goal for contestants in the «Pianists under 30» nomination is to perform the preludes from Ivan Sokolov’s «Evangelical Pictures» series.
The competition will take place from 1 September 2019 to 19 April 2020.
The first and second tours are conducted by correspondence (using video recordings); the third tour requires the Laureates to attend the Easter multimedia concert in Moscow on 19 April 2020, at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (travel and accommodation are covered).
Participation in the competition is free of charge. No registration fees need to be paid by the participants. Any young pianist under the age of 30 from any country can take part in the competition.
The competition is based on a unique multimedia project by prominent Russian modern art figures – composer Ivan Sokolov and artist Konstantin Sutyagin.
Ivan Sokolov wrote a series of pianoforte pieces called «Evangelical Pictures,» which contains 31 preludes, a Recitative and an Epilogue.
Konstantin Sutyagin created a series of 70 paintings under the same title. The two art forms come together in a combined multimedia project called «Heaven and Earth» available at zemlyainebo.ru
